It was in this moment Achilles lost himself to the monster he hoped had been caged by the bars of love for Petroclus. With Petroclus gone, the bars dissolved and so did Achilles' resolve for light and truth. 
 
A painting wrought in pain and despair is a reminder to all that grief can make or break any man. It also serves as a reminder that we know not of others suffering and inner turmoil, and to be kind in finality.
